COY J. JOHNSON, JR | MEMBER-AT-LARGE
Coy J. Johnson, Jr. currently serves as the Director of the Fulton County Office of the Child Attorney whose mission is to provide legal representation to and to protect the rights of children who are alleged to be abused and/or neglected throughout the Fulton County Juvenile Court dependency process.
Aside from serving as Director, Coy serves on the Executive Committee for the Fulton County Juvenile Court’s Dually Involved Youth Initiative and is a member of the Barton Child Law and Policy Center Advisory Committee at Emory University School of Law. Additionally, he is a member of both the National and Georgia Associations of Counsel for Children. Coy is a prior member of the Atlanta Board of Education Ethics Commission and Supreme Court of Georgia Access to Justice Committee. Prior to joining the Office of the Child Attorney, Coy was employed in the Fulton County Office of the County Attorney as a Staff Attorney in the Public Safety Division and as an Assistant District Attorney in Barrow County.
Coy is a magna cum laude graduate of Morehouse College with a B.A. in English and minor in Psychology. He earned his J.D. from the University of Georgia, School of Law where he also served on the Journal of Intellectual Property.
