The Gate City Bar Association’s Justice Benham Law Camp is a three-week summer program designed to expose minority high school students in the Atlanta area to the field of law. During the first two weeks of classroom sessions, students will be provided instruction on the basics of critical thinking and exposure to minority lawyers and judges in various areas of law. Students will also be given an opportunity to tour various legal institutions such as the state and superior courts and the Georgia Supreme Court and Georgia Court of Appeals.
During the internship phase, the third and final week of the program, students will be given an opportunity to work in legal environments throughout metro-Atlanta with various firms, judicial entities, and corporations.
Selected candidates have no fees or expenses associated with the Law Camp. However, parent(s)/guardian(s) are responsible for transporting students to and from the law camp and internships each day. Commuting expenses will not be reimbursed.
Georgia State University’s College of Law partners with the Gate City Bar Association and provide support to this unique summer opportunity.
