Gate City Family:

Over the past several days, as we watched horrific events unfold before our eyes, many of us have come to question the existence of social justice in our African American communities. We have watched our cities, fueled with anger and frustration, turn in on themselves in the struggle to express the pain that we are collectively experiencing.

As Atlanta and our neighbors across the state look to the legal community for healing, advocacy and leadership, the Gate City Bar Association pledges to hold fast to our mission of advancing social justice in our community as we push back against police brutality, misconduct, and the ingrained biases that too often have dire consequences.

I encourage you find ways to engage in positive efforts to support our community’s youth in taking safe and appropriate action to use their voices to advocate for the change we so desperately need throughout our country. As a start, below you will find information on how to register for ACLU Georgia’s Legal Observer Training to protect protesters. These webinars take approximately 30 minutes and will be held at 12 noon on each on the following days:

Thursday, June 4
Friday, June 5

Stay safe and engaged!
